Dr Oku Ampofo

Dr Oku Ampofo was a world acclaimed sculptor and a renowned allopathic medical practitioner from Ghana. He excelled in both sculptural arts and medical practice so much that it is difficult to place him in one field of his life and live the other. Dr Ampofo founded the center for scientific and herbal research into plant medicine at Mampong Akuapim, which was designated in 1985 by the World Health Organization as a collaborating center for traditional medicine, the first in Africa.
